If you want to write a good sermon that can convince and inspire people to listen and be moved to listen to God’s word, there are some tips that you can follow to do so. There are some scriptures from the Bible that are so convincing and will open your mind on how bad a sinner you are. These Words of God will allow you to think that you are never going to make it to salvation hence you can do a big favor to a hundred people or so by sharing what you think to them through a sermon.

Foremost is to be a master of your subject before trying to write a good sermon. In order to do this, you need to enhance your credibility and increase your confidence by learning about the scriptures well. One subject you need to really know is the fact that God loves a sinner who is honest. If you are willing to confess your sins before your brothers and sisters in the congregation like when you are attending a service in a baptist church; this means you are departing from your evil ways and in return, you will be healed.

If you do away with wrongdoings, you become healthy spiritually. God is so patient and kind that even if your sins are so many, your will be forgiven if you know how to ask God’s forgiveness. You need to understand this through God’s grace since His timing is so perfect that you will be able to learn from His example.

During one of your sermons, make some illustrations about your own sin to make them more understandable. Your audience will then feel a lot better because they assume that they aren’t as bad as you. Another tip in making your sermon worth listening to is to speak not out of knowledge but from experience. The best illustrations come from the stories of their own lives and not stories taken from books. Preachers must be aware that what is more profound to your audience is when you have lived the truth and have seen it working in your own life.

When you write your sermon and even as you are sharing them, don’t be afraid to share the truth to the point of being hurtful. It is vital to share your feelings, actions, and words honestly. This must be done so that sins may be conquered because even the worst transgression can be healed by true repentance and by God’s grace.

In writing your sermon, don’t fear of writing and later preaching a long one, as long as you make it interesting and convincing. People will always listen if they get benefits from what you convey to them.

Your sermon must be backed up by valid sources like the Bible. You can start your sermon by reading from the scriptures and explain this by leading an argument still taken from the scriptures. You can go even deeper but you will never go wrong when your evidences are quoted from the most vital source which is the Bible.
